I saw this bear of a man play for Whitgift a couple of years back in the Daily Mail U18s Cup Final at Twickenham. It was the other winger, Marland Yarde, who stole the show on the day, scoring a hat-trick and consequently becoming a London Irish regular. However, Lawrence Okoye was noticeable bigger than any player on the pitch, had the same haircut as Jonah Lomu and boy could he shift for a big lad. He has since taken a different route into the discus, breaking the British record in his first senior year and going on to represent Team GB at this year's Olympics. He may be a little rusty, but the thought of him terrorising defences in the Premiership is an exciting one, and I hope he reconsiders his 'athletic direction'!
